Top State and Local Tax Lawyer Joins Eisenhower Carlson
Practice Areas:

One of the state’s leading state and local tax attorneys has joined the law firm of Eisenhower Carlson as a partner.

Garry Fujita, past president of the Tax Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association, counsels some of the state’s blue-ribbon companies in disputes against state and local government taxing agencies, in audits with such agencies, and in tax planning to minimize state and local tax burdens. His clients range from newspapers and publishing houses to industry leaders in the areas of manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, health care, real estate development, high technology, and aircraft, among others.

A 1978 graduate of the Seattle University School of Law, Fujita earned his LL.M. at Boston University School of Law. The Tacoma native holds a Martindale Hubbell rating of AV-Preeminent, has been named one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in Tax Law by Best Lawyers, and has appeared repeatedly on the Washington Super Lawyers list. He is former editor-in-chief of the American Bar Association’s State and Local Tax Lawyer and presently serves on the Legal Affairs Committee of the Association of Washington Business.

Prior to joining Eisenhower Carlson, he was a partner at the law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine, headquartered in Seattle. Early in his career, he served as assistant director of the Interpretation and Appeals Division, Washington State Department of Revenue.

Established in 1914, Eisenhower Carlson is one of South Puget Sound’s most highly regarded, full service law firms. Its 25 attorneys serve families and businesses in 12 practice areas that range from banking and finance to litigation, from business to employment law.
