Garry G. Fujita

Garry Fujita is a state and local tax lawyer who counsels clients in litigation against state and local government taxing agencies, in audits with such agencies, and in tax planning to minimize state and local tax burdens. Garry assists clients in a wide variety of industries and trades, such as newspapers, publishing, oil, waste disposal, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services, health care, high technology, construction, real estate development, aircraft, staffing, leasing, remote selling and fishing.

Garry works with clients to resolve tax disputes with state and local tax authorities to contest proposed tax assessments or to obtain refunds; litigates matters before the Washington courts, the Board of Tax Appeals, the Board of Equalization and state and city administrative law judges; assists clients with business structures to avoid unintended consequences resulting in unnecessary or multiple taxation for business and occupation (B&O tax), sales, use or real estate excise tax purposes; assists nonprofit organizations in obtaining and maintaining property tax exemptions; and testifies before the Washington Legislature on matters involving state and local tax matters.
